DABL is getting a new home page.. - Monday, February 12, 2007
With bigger tournaments to come soon, DABL is going to have a separate announcements area here.  MMTS will have the same on it's main page.  Both will benefit from a bigger audience.  Hopefully this will lead to more people in the forums and sharing fishing information.

Seeking Volunteers:  Any DABL member that wants to help post announcements, schedule changes, meetings, the results of our tournaments, etc. can contact Doug or Ouitdee and they can set you up with that.  We always like volunteers to help run our fishing leagues.

Everyone is invited to join us at our End of Year Party on Saturday, Sept. 22nd.  Please plan on making it.  It's a Potluck, so plan on bringing something to share and a beverage of your choice.

We'll be giving out all our awards for the Multispecies Fishing League, Duluth Area Bass League and Cloquet Area Fishing League.   So it will be a great time to share fishing stories and eat lots of great food.

It is going to be held at Mark Jukich's home in Hermantown.  Jukich's have always been great hosts and have a great location they share with us.  Directions are posted in the forums.

Please invite anyone you want, especially anyone interested in fishing.  AND yes, most definitely include your significant others and spouses.   They'll meet all the guys you fish with.  Maybe it'll help explain the fishing craziness, maybe NOT...

See ya there,
Doug Pirila, MMTS President, DABL member and angler

Thanks to the following leagues for helping get the Mentor Duluth kids from the YMCA out fishing on Chub Lake.  Minnesota Multispecies Tournament Series, Duluth Area Bass League, Cloquet Area Fishing League, Duluth Area Fishing League, Ultimate Angler Challenge, Trollers Association, and Fishing Webmaster.  We even had an extra boat on this day.  That's awesome.

All the kids had a great time, life jackets, and we will shortly be sending them copies of the photos we took of the day.

Thanks for a great job.

Night 5 was very windy night and our Wildcard night.  So after the draw, A group went to Lake Minnewawa and Group B had to go to Ely Lake by Evelth.

Group A ended up working caught fish and most had limits. First place went to the Hawg-Hunters, Doug Pirila and Al "Twitch" Ansell, with a limit of 5 largemouth weighting 13.7 pounds.  Second went to the Sportsmans Connection Team with 5 bass weighting 13.4 pounds.  Great job guys!  WOW great bass, especially with no prefishing.

B group also had a lot bass caught.  First place went to the Catching Bass with a nice limit of 5 largemouth bass weighting 10.1 pounds.  Second place went to Korpela/Day with 9.25 pounds of bass.  More great fishing!!

Night 3 was very windy, A group was to be on Sturgeon Lake but due to the high winds, we moved it to Sand Lake. This lake is a little more protected. All teams that were on Sand Lake caught fish and most had limits. Great job guys with no pre-fishing you all found fish!

B group was on Island and they had a few limits, sounds like a few teams caught alot of little fish. Great job guys for catching fish in these type of conditions!

The storm never did come as we predicted just alot of wind and a few spinkles!

Twitch, DABL President
