We didn't get to do any Walleye fishing. The owner of the boat had his Kids with. I guess it was a pretty far travel to the good walleye fishing in Big Bay de Noc (I think thats what it called). This was my first trip to the the U.P. and Lake Michigan and Salmon fishing. I had a Blast. It sure was nice known some one with a boat out there as that cut the cost down. We camped in the yard of a commercial fishing company and they only charged us $10 a day for everybody. I left Thursday afternoon and got home Sunday evening and only spent $200. That included gas, food, license, and BEER.
My friend from work that knows the boat owner(Childhood friends) has a 20x40 military tent. He's going to be bringing that next year and were going to plan on staying a week.
It is really neat out there. Just out in front of where we stayed at, there is a big "flat" It is the clearest water around. Talking with the owner of the commercial fishery, People from Europe fly over to Bowfish carp on this flat. I was told it is the best place in the world for Bowfishing carp.
Hopefully if I get out there for a week next year, I'll have a little more time, and better weather to go out exploring.
If you do get to go next year get a hold of me ,I know right where you are talking about I grew up there. There are bad weather fishing spots that could salvage a windy trip.
Good- I will keep that in Mind. We can have about six -8 people on the boat, and there always looking for people to come out.
or any info is accepted.
