Some small lakes now.  Should be quite a few by the end of the week.

Re: open water?  (United States)

Scott Lake is completely open- about  200 acre lake- 20 Ft Depth Max- Private Lake - Access is closed.

Pleasant Lake has really started to open up with this wind.   Heard reports the West Basin- West Of  Bungalow Island Is open and Boats have been out there.

Other than that I have only heard that there is about 12" of Ice on the lakes- with 5-6" being solid and the rest no so good.

Did drive by Maple Lake last night and there was 5 guys out there ice fishing.

But like TKA said- With the warmer temps we are seeing right know- and the winds- they are going to go quick

Re: open water?  (United States)

Thanks guys. Im thinking about heading down that way next weekend I was thinking about trying Pelican it should be open and there should be a few active fish.So if anyone drives by it take a peek and let me know if its open.

Im trying to talk Doug into going down that way but he's scared to fish so early because of the cold!

Re: open water?  (United States)

Twitch- I think we should have open water everywhere down here come Thursday.   Haven't heard any reports from Pelican, But I would think they would be biting somewhere out there.  Neighbor went out shore fishing in a channel on a local lake and got some decent Crappies-  Largest was 14oz.   Limiting was no problem. Sure and I'm stuck going to school for work the next couple days.

P.S.  - Tell Doug it's been in the High 60's should be warm enough for him.   However did see early reports of a chance of rain for the weekend.
